Dear Friend and Valued Member,

On behalf of the Bellingham Metal Arts Guild, thank you for having been with us through the twists and turns of another year. It is time for the annual meeting yet again, and that means that it is a chance for us to see where we’ve been and where we would like to go in the next year. Like always, we need the support and input of all our members to decide the future of the Guild. After all, Bellingham Metal Arts Guild belongs to all of its members, without you and your continued service and patronage there would not be a Guild.

This year for us has brought many changes for us yet again! Obviously there has been a challenge at the moment due to COVID-19, and our studio is temporarily closed. This means no open studio access, no classes, and no revenue for us at the moment. As a non-profit that already has difficulty bringing in enough volunteer help and money to keep our doors open, this has been a huge hit for us. In our annual meeting our treasurer Sacha will be informing us where we are at financially, and what you can do to help during this trying time.

Other things we have worked on this year are expanding our class offerings. Becky, our Education Committee chair, will visit this in more detail in the meeting. We are always interested in trying out new classes, and Becky will let us know how you can help! We also cleaned up and relaunched our website thanks to the hard work of our Secretary Lisa. This is an ongoing project and we plan on doing more work this upcoming year. During our meeting you can find out from Lisa how you can help with this project. We are always looking for people interested in technology to help us with the website, communications, social media, and other ways to increase our digital footprint.

Last year at our annual meeting the members of the Board of Directors shared their stories and why they choose to continue volunteering. These stories were inspiring and motivating for the possibilities of the future. It is incredible to see how just a few people with a little dedication have been able to do so much with their valuable time. We would like to ask you all to think about what the guild means to you, and if you value it think about offering to help in whatever little way you can. It is the little actions that make a big difference. Even just cleaning the studio once a month helps us tremendously! Last year we rolled out the Volunteer Incentive Program, to incentivize our volunteers to give and get something in return. During the meeting we will explain how you can take advantage of this amazing program and in the process help our wonderful community.

Thank you for another year! None of this is possible without each and every one of you.
