Learn to use a thicker bezel when setting harder cabochons like agates, quartz or garnets for a bold and high- quality look. If you have only been bezel-setting cabochons using a pusher or a burnisher, this class is for you. Using chasing tools and a hammer, you will learn a new skill and expand your jewelry design capabilities.
You will be making a pendant or a ring for more advanced students, using your own hard cabochon, 7 and up on Mohs Scale, or purchase a stone from the Instructor.
This technique is not suitable for soft stones like Turquoise or Lapis Lazuli.
You will have the opportunity to make your own steel chasing tools in the Tool Making workshop Friday evening before the Wide Bezel-Setting Class on Saturday and Sunday. Please sign up for both classes.
Dates & Times: Saturday & Sunday, July 14 & 15, 2018, 10am-5pm
