Description
Using the instructor’s stones, students will make basic gemstone observations using special gemological tools (Refraction & Pleochroism, Magnification & Dichroscope Readings), apply gemological methods (Refractive Index Readings & Variety and Group/Species), use informational handouts, have access to the instructor’s gemology library, and identify stones.
In the last class, you may bring your own stones to identify. Upon completing the class, students receive a certificate, allowing them to do future gemstone identifications during scheduled labs at the instructor’s gallery for a small fee.
