Plus $25 Material/kit fee payable in cash to the instructor on the first day of class. Additional materials may also be available from the instructor.

This will be a two day class covering the basics of stone setting in both bezel and prong. Please see complete description below about the course & for information and sources of Cabochons.

Prerequisites: All students must be at least 18 years old.

Intermediate skill level – You have taken the beginning jewelry courses and/or are proficient with soldering, sawing, drilling, polishing, rolling mill/roller printing, etc.

Description

This will be a two day class covering basic bezel setting of cabochon and faceted stones. Students should have a basic knowledge of soldering and fabrication. The class will manufacture a bezel to fit a cabochon stone provided by the student. The next step will be for the student to set the cabochon in the bezel. The class will also cover setting a faceted stone provided by the teacher. Two afternoon sessions from 1pm to 4pm, over two days, will provide the student with a firm foundation on the basics of quality stone setting as a hobbyist or professional.
