In this six-week series students learn essential processes and techniques while creating the foundation for a good studio practice. Class time is spent reviewing processes including piercing metal with a jeweler’s saw, adding texture to metal, soldering and annealing metal with a torch. Class also reviews how to create & bezel set a cabochon gemstone while creating a stunning sterling silver ring. Students leave class with a variety of samples & several finished pieces including a ring and a pendant. Maximum of 4 students, masks required.
Students should bring a sketchbook or notebook and a pencil for notes and drawings. They are also welcome to bring a small cabochon gemstone to class. The instructor will have all of the materials including sterling silver and cabochon gemstones available for purchase for each sample.
Material Fee: $10-25 based upon materials purchased from instructor

Prerequisites: Students are encouraged to have taken Jewelry 1 or other beginning jewelry class. Open to adults, 18 years or older, wanting to learn new skills.
