Bezel Setting – Wide Sterling Silver – Fast Track*

$240.00

Plus a Material/kit fee payable in cash to the instructor on the first day of class. Check the full detailed description below for the correct amount to bring! Materials will be available on the day of class.

(kit will range from $30-$50 depending on your choices)

Requires a Minimum of 3 participants.

Learn to make a ring with a bezel set cabochon in this two day course, using a thicker bezel designed for harder stones like agates, quartz or garnets.  It will have a bolder and high-quality look.  If you have been bezel-setting cabochons using thin metal strips and a pusher or a burnisher, this will be a new skill for you as we will be using a steel chasing tool and a hammer to set your cabochon.

You will have the opportunity to make your own steel chasing tools in the Tool Making Workshop Friday evening before this class on Saturday and Sunday.  Please sign up for both!

* Fast Track offerings are those that are done over a compact period of time, OR  a lot of work performed per session – rather than the regular schedule (typically 1 class a week, over 5 weeks).  As many folks ask for a course both ways, we often offer both types.  See the Complete Course Catalog for all options.

Instructor:  Marie-Claire Dole

Prerequisites: All students must be at least 18 years old. Basic skill level (some experience with metalsmithing preferred but not required.)

We Recommend you take the Tool Making Workshop – in it you will create the special tools you need for this class, while learning how to make your own chasing tools.
