Faceted Stone Series: Class 1-Silversmithing 101

$235.00

Requires a Minimum of 2 participants.

Silversmithing 101 builds on Beginning Jewelry principles and teaches how to work with sterling silver. Together we will create several styles of sterling silver rings. Each ring style assists in reviewing soldering skills through repeated practice. Once soldered, the shape of each ring will be manipulated through filing, sanding, and more. We will also review finishing and polishing practices. Students will leave class with 4 different styles of ring bands: 1 wire band, 1 tapered band, 1 knife edge band and 1 split band.

These rings will prepare you for our faceted stone setting series. If you sign up for the stone setting series class, be prepared to bring these finished samples with you to solder a stone setting onto.

Upcoming classes include: Tube Set Gemstones on May 16, Basic Basket Setting on June 20, Traditional Basket Setting on July 18, & Flush Setting on August 14. See website for details and to sign up for future classes.
